A New Look For Scothern Players

Scothern players are breaking the mould for our production in the Autumn of 2025.  We will still be performing a full length comedy play (as usual) and it will remain one of the best value entertainments in the
Lincoln area, but changes are being made to freshen the presentation.

Gone are the shows over 2 weekends. This year we will still give you 4 great performances, but we are trialling all in one week –Thursday, Friday and 2 on Saturday. The introduction of a Saturday matinee will allow enjoyment for all, but especially those who prefer daytime entertainment.

Gone is the staid “sitting-room” set with a new more radical design (if we can build to our expectations!). The directors have a number of ideas up their sleeves to increase amusement and enhance plot. Publicity is undergoing a face lift, so keep an eye open for future mailings!

With a big cast of 11, our loyal stalwarts will be boosted by a number of accomplished new faces. Expect the unexpected. Yes, yes, I hear you cry, but what and when is the show? I will tell you.

This Oct/Nov we have a murder mystery for you. We have scoured the listings for a comedy with great characters, witty dialogue and no lengthy and boring denouement. We think we have found a winner:
“Agatha Crusty and the Murder Mystery Dinner” by Derek Webb. Featuring multiple murders, a storm beset mansion, a chicken killer and a Miss Marple-like sleuth, this parody of Agatha Christie’s work will keep you guessing and laughing in equal measures.

Performances at Scothern Village Hall will be on Thurs 30th Oct, Fri 31st Oct and TWO shows on Sat 1st Nov 2025.
